As a yoga therapist, I give you those necessary steps to start slow, go at your own pace and honour your body and where you are at, right now. The practice is gentle with a focus on awareness and breath, rather than on achieving any fantastical pose.

You don't have to be a young and skinny acrobat to do yoga.

I have had some issues with inflammation and pain in my SI Joints. It has been a long recovery and I still need to be careful what I do.  I have found the more gentle classes are what I need right now and I have gotten over doing what I THINK I should be doing and am now just doing what makes me feel good. I just wanted to send you a personal thank you for what I have learned from you.

This week has been very stressful for me because of some stuff I am dealing with.

I had so much anxiety that I haven’t slept much and wasn’t sure how I would get through the day but knew that breath work would calm me down.

I watched the short video on Kaki breath then did the short snack for anxiety and it was so helpful that by the time I had to show up in a stressful life situation, I didn’t freak out.

I got through the day!

Had to practice kaki breath on my breaks which was so helpful to keep me grounded.

I am a senior lady who has “played” with yoga on and off for years. I have been taking sessions with Angie for about 10 years. Angie’s classes were the ones I always came back to. The online classes were at my own time, place and convenience. Fast forward to now, yoga has become automatic for me, like brushing my teeth and washing my face in the morning. your yoga therapist and guide

I am a certified yoga therapist with over 20 years of experience guiding women to find healing, balance, clarity and peace in their lives through the teachings of yoga.

It was lucky that I stumbled into yoga when I was pretty young at 23. Otherwise I don't know where I would be now with my physical and mental health without it. It has saved me.

I discovered early on, the healing and transformative power of the yoga.

In 2007 I was diagnosed with a bulged disc between my L5 S1 vertebrae.

The doctors said then that I would have to learn to live with the pain or try surgery if I wanted to get better. I just couldn't digest and accept that answer.

So in 2008, I travelled to India, looking for answers on how to to heal my back pain.

It was there that I met my teacher and mentor, Yogrishi Visva-ketu, who was instrumental in not only my healing journey, but also in teaching me that yoga doesn't have to be a serious, stoic pursuit.

Instead, he infused our classes with a humour, laughter and lightness that I had never experienced before.

Not only did my back heal through yoga and breath, but I brought back to Canada, his lighthearted and fun approach to sharing yoga with others.

This, combined with my formal yoga therapy training, informs the fun, safe and playful yoga sessions that I share today. Yoga therapy is the practice of applying the various tools of yoga towards specific conditions or health presentations, be they physical, mental, emotional, spiritual or energetic, to facilitate healing. Every posture, breath technique, mantra or mudra creates a specific effect.

The step by step gentle yoga that I have developed is based on decades of study and experience, both real life and academic.

I am passionate about the safety of my students and making yoga accessible to ALL bodies, big and small, young and old.

This moment represents a doorway for you to step into yoga and begin to learn how to use it to heal yourself.

I believe there is a practice for everyone and you don't have to be a young, skinny athlete in order to do yoga.

If you can breathe, you can practice.

I believe in you and your power to heal yourself and I am here in service to you.
